I said the party. Small "p". Which is to state not the official organization, but the members of the organization.
My statement is not untrue, Code Pink is a part of the Democrat Party, in as much as they identify with their principles.
My statement does not hold the Democratic Party up to scorn, ridicule, hatred, or contempt nor does it harm their reputation because Code Pink is quite proud of what they did (see their website) and the Democrat Party doesn't care.
If you don't believe me, feel free to sue.El Oso Furiosohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04432865591655784533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524394.post-34488385707452468902008-09-05T10:52:00.000-05:002008-09-05T10:52:00.000-05:00Maybe they're not "rank and file", maybe that's un...Maybe they're not "rank and file", maybe that's unfair.
But come on, Ryan. To call these guys "fringe elements" is as unfair as to suggest the Daily KOSmonaughts and the Huffington Post folks and the MoveOn.Org crowd are "fringe". They can't be "net roots" and "fringe elements" at the same time. At least one of those protesters was from Code Pink and they're not the least bit ashamed of what they did. This is the same gaggle of folks who tried to hijack Lieberman's reelection campaign but got slapped down in the statewide election because they're not as powerful or as influential as either they or the democratic power structure thinks they are. If the Dialy Kos and Code Pinks and MoveOn crowd aren't a part of the rank and file and character of that party, then who is?El Oso Furiosohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04432865591655784533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524394.post-34574709232080555642008-09-05T10:34:00.000-05:002008-09-05T10:34:00.000-05:00Calling the protesters at the GOP convention "rank...Calling the protesters at the GOP convention "rank and file dems" is simply not fair. People who have nothing better to do than fly to Minneapolis, get on the floor of the convention and make a scene are not the majority of people currently supporting the Democrats. I don't think it's useful to use the fringe elements of either party to make a decision as to which candidate to support.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524394.post-82931597857501641652008-09-05T09:46:00.000-05:002008-09-05T09:46:00.000-05:00Wow, in this post and the previous one, you've acc...Wow, in this post and the previous one, you've accused the Democratic Party of being behind the protests at the GOP convention. You even go so far as to say it's an attempt to "silence".

Without a shred of evidence offered.

This is what is called libel.spartikushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15639539383294575736noreply@blogger.com
